A volunteer fire company is built on its dedicated members, who proudly serve their friends and neighbors. we are the men and women who willingly leave our warm beds at night, that hot home cooked dinner, and sometimes our children's sports events to come to your aid when a crisis arises. We represent all walks of life and live throughout the township.

In recent years, our fast paced lifestyles and the demands of the two-career family have made it more difficult to recruit new members. And although we recognize that most of us are stretched to our limit, we encourage you to consider joining our organization.

Members must be at least 18 years old. Young men and women between the ages of 15 and 18 are eligible to join our junior fire fighter program. We are a family organization, and welcome a father/son or father/daughter team - an excellent opportunity to serve together and strengthen family bonds. The fire company provides, free of charge, both fire fighting training, and protective equipment which meets state and federal standards. The only thing you need to bring to the organization is your enthusiasm and a willingness to serve.

In return you will have the opportunity to work shoulder to shoulder with some outstanding neighbors who will quickly become your friends. You will become a positive role model to our children as they witness your community service, whether it is during a response to an emergency call or perhaps as you ride through the neighborhood with Santa as he distributes candy canes during the holiday season. You will not only earn their admiration and respect, but will promote the spirit of community service and volunteerism to the next generation. However, the biggest return on this investment of your time will come when you respond to a call for help and receive the immeasurable gratitude of a neighbor in need.

You may say "yes" to our invitation by contacting our President, John Bradley, at 423-2392. We also encourage you to stop by the fire house, at 5 West Cohawkin Road, any Tuesday evening after 7. Members will be there to show you around, answer your questions, and welcome you into our membership.

We are counting on you to help us continue our time honored tradition of service to East Greenwich Township.
