"Chief reported that the company was called to a fire at the house occupied by Mrs. Glover on Sunday afternoon, August 27th about 3 o'clock. The fire had gained such headway before the alarm was given that little if anything could be done to arrest it. House was valued at $4000.00, insurance, $700.00. All members within hearing of the alarm responded promptly."

the minutes of the East Greenwich Fire Company - September 13,
1904
Over
the years, the East Greenwich Fire Company has had numerous
fire engines, some of which are pictured here. For more
information on the fire engines currently used by the
East Greenwich Fire Company, click here for the Virtual
Tour.
Various changes were made to the fire station over the
years, but the most significant came in 1967. The East
Greenwich Fire Company built a three bay addition to the
original building. The original section of the building
was renovated, turning what used to be the engine room
into a kitchen and meeting room. Throughout the years,
the East Greenwich Fire Company has served East Greenwich
township and the surrounding communities. Volunteers have
been the backbone of the organization since its inception
in 1903. The East Greenwich Fire Company is always in need of volunteers to help.
